In
no particular order signs of a true Muslim friend:
1) When his/her friend is happy they are also
happy. They never get jealous of their friend’s achievements. They always
want their friends to be happy.
2) They share
their joys with their friends. They love to share their belongings and are
generous.
3) They are
protective of their friends. They always defend their friends when their
friends need backing up.
4) They never
laugh at their friends’ mishaps. They never make hurtful comments or jokes
about their friends.
5) They are
always there for their friends. If their friends need someone to talk to or
if they need help in any way they are always available for them.
6) They are
humble and love taking care of their friends.
7) They are
always truthful with their friends. They never lie to them.
8) They accept
their friends as they are and if they want their friends to change it would
only be for their betterment e.g. for the friend to improve spiritually/religiously.
9) If they see
their friends committing a mistake, they are quick to point it out and advise
them in the nicest way.
10)
They love returning the favors of their friends. They
sincerely appreciate whatever good their friends do to them.
11)
They seldom lose interest in their friends and enjoy
spending time with them, especially in exchanging Islamic knowledge and
wisdom.
12)
They are trustworthy and always keep their promises.
13)
If they wrong you in any way, they are quick to
apologize and would do anything to compensate.

1) They hate
seeing you happy. They get jealous of your achievements.
2) They don’t
always share their joys with you. At times they can be very selfish.
3) When you’re
in trouble, they either ridicule you or run away.
4) When given
the chance they love to laugh at you and make fun of you.
5) When someone says
some nasty things about you, the fake friend either laughs at what is being
told to them, agrees with what is being said or shares the gossip with
others.
6) That fake
friend is often very arrogant in your company, doesn’t welcome your advice
and would never take orders from you.
7) They may lie
to you from time to time. They love being sarcastic, so much so that
sometimes you’d need to guess if they’re telling the truth or if they’re
lying.
8) When befriending
you, they usually have hidden or ulterior motives, as though they are nosy
spies hunting for ‘information’.
9) They hardly
ever advise you when you need advice. They never bother correcting you when
you are wrong.
10)
They don’t always appreciate the good things you do
to them. In your dealings with them you’re oftentimes the giver while they’re
the taker and ingrate.
11)
They hate being seen with you. They easily get bored
by you. They try to avoid you whenever possible.
12)
They have a tendency to break their promises and have
many times proved to be untrustworthy.
13)
Saying a simple ‘I’m sorry’ to you is very strenuous and
difficult for them. They hate apologizing.
